Methods to troubleshoot MS Office Activation Error 0x80070005

On several PCs, the following error tries to activate MS Office 2013 (or 2010) suite: If something went wrong, then we can’t do this for you right now. Please try again later. (0x80070005). The 0x80070005 error commonly means that the activation service runs into inadequate individual permissions.

To resolve MS Office 2013 or Office 365 Activation error 0x80070005

Method 1: Activate MS Office 365 as Administrator.

Go to Start > Programs and then MS office: Hold down the SHIFT key and right click in any MS Office software or program. Choose Run as Administrator.
Method 2: Activate MS Office 365 by using a script.

Go to Start > Programs > Accessories. Have a Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as an Administrator.
